Music video workshops
Our workshops offer participants a practical experience of creating their own dynamic video to a music track. They will experience the whole cycle of the production process including storyboarding, filming and editing to produce a polished film.
The participants will learn how to visually tell a story to accompany a soundtrack, leaving them with full creative control. Music videos require lots of different shots to keep them energetic and upbeat; this offers everyone a chance to perform and get hands-on behind the camera, meaning Music Video Workshops are ideal to offer your group their first taste of filmmaking.
What packages do we offer?
Short Sessions

We can run short sessions on one element of the script to screen process, or run a series of half-day sessions, with separate dedicated time for scripting, filming, and editing. This can be a great option to work around your schedule and offers a chance to shoot scenes in different locations!
Full Day Workshops

Our workshop has been honed to develop from an initial idea to full-blown film in the course of just one school day. Participants will work in small groups, and write, shoot and edit their own short film.
Holiday Workshops

Scripted drama workshops lend themselves to full-week courses during School Holidays. More time will enable the participants to learn more in depth production skills and produce longer and more challenging films.
What key skills do the students learn?
Young people are taught the process of creating a music video from idea/song, through pre-production to post-production and delivery of the film. With the support of industry experts, young people are given an insight into filmmaking.
Music video workshops look at ideas of style. Through hands-on activities, they create moodboards and storyboards and work to develop them into completed promos.
The workshops foster creativity and teamwork. They participants work in teams collaborating throughout. Our team will help and guide them each step of the way.
What equipment will they use?
Depending on your group, they might be using our professional production kit or classic entry-level kit like DSLR cameras.Another great option is to film using mobile phones and edit on free software – this enables the participants to continue using the skills they’ve learned even after we’ve packed up!
How can short filmmaking with the national curriculum?
Music video workshops are perfect for exercising performance skills developed in English, drama and dance, and some technical skills in ICT or media studies and music. This hands-on approach fosters creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills, enhancing students’ overall learning experience.
